Joe was raising his two boys to play baseball, but got diverted into racing in 2004 when his son Tyler Armstrong asked if he could try out something called a Bandelero. Knowing everything about baseball and nothing about race cars, Joe had to get help and formed a partnership with Crew Chief Drew Johnson. A great friendship was formed over the past 6 years and the partnership continues today as Joe Armstrong is the proud owner of the TJ Racing Cars and Equipment.
Crew Chief
Drew is the owner of ADJ's Complete Exteriors. For the past twenty years he has worked with home exteriors specializing in siding, stone, windows, and roofing. Drew is also taking advantage of national energy deregulation and has an expanding energy business. Drew is meticulous in all his work and takes the additional time to make sure the job is done right. His attention to detail is why Drew Johnson is a very successful business owner and Crew Chief.
As the Crew Chief for Tina Johnson, Tyler Armstrong, and Jake Armstrong he has earned many trips to victory lane and several championships. Drew has mastered the Bandelero which is why Tina Johnson has countless victories and Jake Armstrong currently holds the Atlanta Motor Speedway Track Record for fastest lap ever in a Bandolero. Drew continues to refine his skills with the Legend Car as Jake Armstrong made it to victory lane twice last season. When you see Tina Johnson and one of the Armstrong Brothers competing for the checkered flag this summer, you'll know Drew Johnson spent hours getting that car ready.
